Dr. Khoury, MD, is a Vice Chair of Anatomic Pathology and Chief of Breast Pathology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. He has developed expertise in breast pathology through training along with the extensive research projects in the field. Although his research focus is breast related diseases, he does not have a specific area of interest, and his research has been conducted to answer clinical questions faced during regular sign out. An area pertinent to his role includes issues related to HER2 testing and evaluation, including but not limited to pre-analytic effects of delay to formalin fixation (cold ischemic time), molecular analysis of HER2 gene, maximizing concordance between IHC and FISH, the role of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in the clinical outcome, and the epidemiology of various types of breast cancers including racial disparity.
